Salary: £150,000 + Bonus

About the Company:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a successful lending business established in 2013 who provide commercial finance to UK businesses. Funds have been generated from their associated energy company, and these are used to provide a suite of tailored financial solutions.

The business has in-house expertise in business turnaround and insolvency, debt recovery, banking, process improvement, corporate law, and business development. They use this expertise and their funds to help UK businesses achieve success.

Unlike other lenders, the business will support clients with financial backing as well as providing dedicated resources to address any challenges. Should clients need immediate help, funds can be available within 48 hours. They will work with each client to help secure an exit to long term commercial funding.

Job Description:

Due to exceptional company performance, our client is now seeking a high-calibre Operations Director to work closely with the Director to adopt a large workload in the assessment of new and on-going Bridging and Development Finance deals.

As ‘second in command’ to the Director, you will be responsible for the back-end process of deals. This means you will sit on the Credit Committee and take ownership of the assessment and decision-making of new deals, the performance of existing deals and intervening in the event of problems arising within the portfolio.

This is a senior position within the company, and so you will be a key point of contact for queries and escalations for both internal and external stakeholders of the business.

As this is a brand-new position within the company, it is an excellent opportunity to shape the role as your own and have real influence within the wider business.

Skills and experience needed (essential or preferred):

  • An in-depth knowledge of the Bridging and Development Finance landscape
  • Demonstrable experience of holding a similar role
  • Proven experience of sitting on a Credit Committee
  • Exceptional credit skills and personal mandate experience on deals of £5M+
  • Knowledge and experience of working in the second-tier lending market
  • Demonstrable experience of working with external lawyers and other key stakeholders
  • Proactive leadership experience
