INSIGHT #2 simply followed on where the first event ended… a group of empowered women from the banking and finance industry, sharing experiences and learning from each other, held fittingly the week before International Women’s Day.
INSIGHT host and Campbell & Fletcher Managing Director, Tracy Fletcher, opened the event by welcoming a large number of new faces; the group has grown as members share and invite colleagues from “C”suite down to join, share and support. Tracy then welcomed Karen Cruise, founder of Flourished Minds, a life coach who primarily works with Young Children, Parents and Teachers to help them achieve their brightest future. In her passioned presentation which bought a few tears from the attendees she explained how hard it can be to succeed. Using her own amazing journey to explain how having left school in her own words with ’nothing’ she forged a 30 year career in social housing before going back to ’school’ at 51 to firstly get her “GCSE’s” and then a degree before setting up her own coaching consultancy.
“I left school with no qualifications and I’ve done what I’ve done through hard work, determination and by being supported by some really great people” Karen Cruise.
The meeting then split into separate rooms, allowing Karen to speak to smaller groups about the challenges facing some of the attendees with their children returning to school this week, whilst in the other room attendees networked and shared their thoughts on what had been discussed, and ideas for INSIGHT #3.
“This is the very reason we decided to start this group, I can feel so much positive energy” commented Alison Campbell, Director of Campbell & Fletcher Recruitment and co-organiser of Insight.
“The INSIGHT LinkedIn Group is growing in members every day, and we hope to launch “Our Little Pink Book” in the next couple of months, but to be honest its days and events like this which are the real success of INSIGHT – over 30 women and i have no doubt every single one of them got something out of the event.” commented Tracy
